They are bearer bars, used to support printing quality and help reveal plate-pressure problems.
Can I reuse an EAN-13 value?
A GTIN-14 may be related to a contained trade item, but its indicator and assignment must follow your GS1 packaging setup.
How is the last digit determined?
It is the standard GTIN Modulo 10 check digit calculated from the first thirteen digits.
