Choose the right QR
Use a static QR when the content is final and should work independently after download. Use a dynamic QR when a printed code needs an editable destination or LumenQR-hosted page.

One link, four steps
Every new dynamic code encodes a canonical link in this form:

Destination modes
External
The fixed /r/ link issues a temporary 302 redirect to the public HTTP or HTTPS destination saved in your dashboard. You can update that destination later.
URL checks are structural. They reject local hosts, IP literals, credentials, fragments, non-default ports, and LumenQR redirect loops; they are not a malware or reputation check.
Hosted
The /r/ link opens a LumenQR page under /p/ built from the content and files you provide. Hosted pages carry noindex instructions and are not public search landing pages.
Lifecycle controls
Change an external website destination, hosted-page content, the dashboard name, or the QR design. The short link and scan total stay with the record.
Pausing keeps the QR and link unchanged, but scanners see an unavailable response until you resume the code.
Archiving is permanent. The code stops resolving, cannot be restored through the service, and its short code remains reserved.
Scan counts
The dashboard shows a lifetime scan total and a recent 30-day trend grouped by UTC date. The scan writer receives only the short code; it does not store raw scanner IP addresses, user agents, referrers, destination query data, location, or device fields.
The 30-day chart is the dashboard display window, not a claim that all aggregate data is deleted after 30 days.
Current boundaries
A static QR code contains its final content. A dynamic QR code contains a fixed LumenQR short link, so you can change what that link opens without replacing the QR image.
