Terms of Service
Last updated: August 12, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LumenQR, you agree to these Terms of Service and the referenced Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service Description
LumenQR provides free browser-based tools for creating static QR codes and barcodes, customizing and downloading generated images, and scanning codes with a camera or local image. These tools generally process entered content in your browser and do not require an account.
LumenQR also provides an account-based Dynamic QR early-access service for creating and managing live dynamic QR codes. Each dynamic QR code encodes a LumenQR short link that temporarily redirects scanners to the destination URL you store. You can update the destination, pause, resume, or permanently archive a code from the dashboard.
The native destination types (PDF, image gallery, video, social links, app, menu, event, coupon, and feedback) are hosted by LumenQR: the short link redirects scanners to a page LumenQR serves from the content and files you provide. You are responsible for that content and must have the rights to share every file you upload. Uploaded files are stored privately and delivered through same-origin proxied links that never expose storage object paths while a code is live; content and file size limits are enforced as documented, and the same prohibited-use rules apply to hosted pages as to linked destinations.
3. Accounts and Security
You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials and confirmation links confidential, and take reasonable steps to protect access to your account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Notify us through the feedback page if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not access another person's account or attempt to bypass authentication or security controls.
4. Dynamic QR Early Access
The Dynamic QR feature is in early access, free, and subject to change. Codes go live when they are created: the encoded short link issues a temporary (302) redirect to your current destination and does not itself contain your content. Features, schemas, safety checks, limits, and stored records may change or be discontinued as the service develops. We may apply rate limits, storage limits, or other controls, and may restrict or suspend access to codes or accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the service, address abuse, or enforce these Terms.
Destination URLs must pass strict deterministic structural validation: only public HTTP and HTTPS URLs are accepted, and local names, IP addresses, embedded credentials, fragments, and non-default ports are rejected. This validation is structural only — LumenQR does not check destinations against third-party malware or reputation databases and does not guarantee that any destination is safe.
You can pause a live code at any time, which stops its redirect until you resume it. Archiving a code is permanent: the redirect stops immediately, archived records cannot be restored through the service, and the record and short code remain reserved so a code that may already have been printed or distributed is never reassigned to an unrelated destination.
You are responsible for verifying every destination and generated image before use or distribution. A printed dynamic QR code permanently encodes its short link; only the destination behind that link can change.
5. Your Content and Responsibilities
You retain responsibility for URLs, text, contact details, images, design data, and other content you enter or save. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to use that content and any destination it identifies. You permit LumenQR and its service providers to process and store that content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. You are solely responsible for testing codes and destinations and for the consequences of publishing, printing, or distributing them.
6. Prohibited Use
You may not use LumenQR to:
- Conduct phishing, credential theft, impersonation, fraud, or deceptive redirects
- Distribute malware, malicious code, unwanted downloads, or links intended to compromise a device or account
- Send spam, facilitate unsolicited bulk messaging, or evade abuse-prevention systems
- Violate law or another person's privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights
- Probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service or its providers
- Bypass authentication, rate limits, safety checks, access controls, or account restrictions
7. LumenQR Materials
The site software, interface, branding, logos, and original site content are owned by LumenQR or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you. This section does not claim ownership of content that you enter or of third-party names, marks, or materials.
8. Availability and Disclaimer
The service, including early-access features, is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by applicable law, LumenQR disclaims warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and error-free operation.
QR codes, barcodes, scanners, destinations, printers, cameras, and third-party readers can behave differently. You must test outputs in the environment where they will be used and maintain an appropriate backup of important data.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, LumenQR is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or inability to use the service, loss of data, a code or destination, or conduct of another user or third party. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how the browser-based tools, accounts, analytics, live Dynamic QR codes, and service providers handle information.
11. Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may update, limit, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service, including Dynamic QR features. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, security risk, legal requirements, or material violation of these Terms. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any disputes arising from these terms should be resolved through friendly consultation.
13. Contact
For questions about these Terms, use the feedback page (/feedback). Sending feedback requires a signed-in account and is protected by abuse-prevention checks and rate limits. We never store your raw IP address, user agent, or device data — only a pseudonymous anti-abuse HMAC derived from your IP address, kept for up to 180 days. Do not submit passwords, authentication links, access tokens, or other secrets.
Feedback you send is private by default. Only if you explicitly allow anonymous publication may an approved message be shown publicly, always under Anonymous; your email address and account details are never published. LumenQR may decline or withdraw publication at its discretion, and you may ask us to withdraw a published message through the same page.
